By Car.
Leave the M5 at Junction 27, and follow the road to Barnstaple then Bideford and look for signs to Bude on the A39 Atlantic Highway. Bude is around 30 minutes from Bideford. You can also travel further south on the M5 and leave the motorway at Exeter taking the A30 to Okehampton and then the A3079 through Halwill Junction later following the A3072 through Holsworthy, on to Stratton and then on to Bude. Drive along the Strand, up the hill (Belle Vue) and left on to Crooklets Road. Turn right on the road that cuts through the golf course and straight across the junction to Maer Down Road. If you don’t have SatNav, the AA or RAC route planners online are useful tools to plan your trip.
By Train.
The London Paddington to Penzance line is a fast and reliable service. Alight at Exeter St David’s Station. From Exeter St David’s, Stagecoach (stagecoachbus.com) operates the 6 and 6a service which runs from outside the station to Okehampton, and then onto Bude. Alight at The Strand, which is opposite Lloyds TSB bank. There are often mini cabs parked in this area or you can call B&S taxis on 07889 833127.
National Express.
The London Victoria 501 route alights at Exeter Bus Station. (In the summer months, National Express run a direct Coach from London to Bude). From Exeter Bus Station, local bus companies operate the X9 service which runs from Exeter to Okehampton, and then onto Bude. Alight at The Strand, which is opposite Lloyds TSB bank. From here you can take a taxi. There are often mini cabs parked here or you can call B&S taxis on 07889 833127.
